Priscilla Swanson - Owner, Cosmetologist
Priscilla started her career in beauty in Milwaukee in 1988. After working in one of the city's most reputable salons for two years, she decided to move to Gunnison to go to college (and ski). She continued her career through college, working in Crested Butte. After graduating with an Art Education degree, Priscilla took some time off to travel Central America. When she returned she set up shop in Gunnison in a small space downtown. Within about 6 months Priscilla had 3 women working with her full time, and the space became really small. In 2000, Priscilla purchased the "Sundae Shop" building and it got the makeover of its life. Metamorphosis Salon and Spa opened in October of 2000. "It has been a great challenge to own and operate a business like this" Priscilla says of her endeavor. "I find it very rewarding not only in making people happy with the services that they receive here, but also in providing a stimulating work environment for all my wonderful employees." Her favorite part of her job? - Doing hair!

Karah Cunningham - Cosmetologist
Since arriving in the Valley in 1991, Karah began looking for a career to sustain her quality of life as well as a way to expand her creative outlets. In 1998 She became a licensed cosmetologist and has been thrilled with her career choice. She says "I love expanding my horizons, in haircolor and updos, through continuing education." Karah is also certified in ProHair Extensions. Her main focus in the salon is hair, but she also enjoys waxing. View Portfolio |

Jennifer Didericksen - Cosmetologist
Jennifer is a full service cosmetologist and has been in the business since 1985. Originally from Texas, Jennifer moved to Colorado in 1988 and made her way to the Gunnison Valley in 2002. She is certified through Creative Nail Design as a Grand Master Nail Technician. Although she loves all aspects of hair, her main focus is the nail department. Rory Kahn - Cosmetologist
Rory moved to Gunnison at sixteen. After graduating high school she attened Fort Lewis College in Durango achieving a BA in Exercise Science in 2005. She returned to Gunnison during the Summer of 2005 and worked as a receptionist for Metamorphosis Salon & Spa. She had always been interested is pursuing a career as a hair stylist and her experience working at Metamorphosis motivated her to do just that. She soon moved back to Durango to attend cosmetology school and now, Rory is back in Gunnison and working as a hair stylist. Melissa McLaughlin - Cosmetologist
Melissa moved to Gunnison to attend classes at Western State College after living in Elizabeth, CO most of her life. She began cosmetology school in Aurora her senior year of high school. After graduating, she completed the remainder of that education and became a licensed Cosmetologist. She really enjoys working at the salon and performing services that make clients feel better about themselves. View Portfolio

Kristen Caron - Cosmetologist
After graduating from high school in Massachusetts in 2005, Kristen went on to study cosmetology at Paul Mitchell The School in Rhode Island. During her eleven months at Paul Mitchell she was fortunate enough to work as a stylist for a photographer in Boston, do runway styling, and receive first place in a braiding and updo competition. After her completion of beauty school she went on to follow her dreams of working at an upscale salon in the city. Boston was great but her love for travel brought her to Gunnison in August of 2007. Kristen is excited to learn new things and share her knowledge. One day she hopes to travel the world while doing runway and editorial work.

Andi Burnite - Nationally Certified Massage Therapist
Andi has recently returned back to Gunnison County. She is a born Native of Arizona and has been a resident of Colorado since 1973. Her interest in the outdoors started in her home-town of Durango and then brought her locally to Western State College in 1990 where she did competitive running and skiing. Falling deeply in-love with the area kept Andi in Crested Butte until 2004, during the fourteen years she enjoyed many activities such as business proprietorship, kayaking, ski guiding, and hockey. In 2005 Andi graduated from the Rocky Mountain School of Healing Arts located in Durango. The education received in the massage program has allowed Andi to address people’s therapeutic needs with modalities such as Swedish, Nuero-Muscular Therapy, Deep Tissue, Sport/Recovery, Hot Stones, Reiki, and Spa Treatments. Helping others and promoting wellness is one of Andi’s passions. She finds fulfillment in assisting and inspiring others to achieve a deeper knowledge of self to allow freedom for the body, mind, and soul. |

Cindy Liberton - Office Manager
Prior to arriving into the Gunnison area, Cindy spent most of her previous life in Arlington, Texas. She had a long and successful career as a banker in Texas and after moving to Colorado decided to retire from that profession. She spent the last 10 winters working and managing the seasonal flight for American Airlines which brought skiers to the Crested Butte area. In May of 2007 she started at the salon to assist Priscilla in the day to day managing of the salon and running the front desk. Cindy is looking forward to greeting all the clents who support the salon with great customer service. |
