New Skin Care Service Offered at Metamorphosis Salon & Spa
Metamorphosis is proud to introduce a new skin care service: microdermabrasion. Skin resurfacing, or microdermabrasion, is a gentle yet effective way to exfoliate the skin. The treatment results in softer, smoother and cleaner skin.
Microdermabrasion can help a variety of skin issues. Hyperpigmentation due to sun damage or age spots, fine lines around the eyes or forehead, blackheads, whiteheads, minor scars and oily skin can all be improved through a series of treatments.
By removing the outermost layer of skin, the body stimulates the production of new healthy skin cells.
The treatment is performed with leading technology, utilizing a diamond-tipped wand. The wand is also a vacuum, which removes the dead skin cells in a sterile and controlled manner. This process is safer than the “crystal” type of microdermabrasion, as the crystals may escape the vacuum and be inhaled by the client and service provider. Another advantage to this particular procedure is that the service can be customized for each individual’s skin type. The widely adjustable vacuum, in conjunction with the varying coarseness of wands, allows the service provider to adjust the effectiveness of the treatment.
Unlike chemical peels or laser resurfacing treatments, there is no pain or recovery time. Immediately after a microdermabrasion treatment, the skin may have a flushed appearance, but this will return to normal within 30 minutes.
